More Face

Noses are hard. It’s going alright, but slowly. It has to be perfect.

Tomorrow I’m hoping to actually spend some time on this and get the whole face finished. I’ve been distracted by driving practice and watching Buffy. Oops.

Face: Take Two

I’m terrible at blogging, clearly. Winter break is happening, so I’m going to try to post progress on my new project. Last time was a bit of a disaster, so I’m attempting a face again. Kinda just started, but here’s tonight’s progress so far:

I think the eyes are coming out okay. That’s really all I’ve worked on so far. I should probably move on and get the rest of the face blocked out now.

I kind of forgot I had a blog for a while there. I’m getting a head start on my thesis this semester, so I’m going to be posting some of that stuff as I go. I’d try to catch up on the severe lack of posting, but most of the stuff I’ve done so far this semester is large and will not fit in a scanner. I might scan some sketchbook pages next time I get a chance.

Also, my lovely boyfriend Peter is going to be joining me on this blog because he’s too lazy to make his own. So look forward to seeing his stuff on here too.

Mini-Update

Haven’t gotten much further with this, but I haven’t posted the latest version so here it is.

I started to block out the body, but the face still needs a lot of work. The cheeks and forehead are a bit strange and the jaw needs more definition, but I’ll hold off on that until I go back to add the ears. I’m hoping I’ll get more of this done this week, but I have a new idea I want to try out so we’ll see how that goes.

Website Update

I haven’t been posting progress lately because I took a bit of a break to entirely redo my website. Layout planned in Photoshop, and coded in Notepad. The dinosaur-chickenbeast featured on every page is a new drawing too.

Clearly I’m not very good at this “posting progress” thing. I’ll be sure not to wait until I finish the other project to post about it again. The latest version of it is on the other computer, so I’ll probably post an update tomorrow or later tonight.

I’m also going to have to finish coloring the sexy sauropod at some point. I’ll probably finish it off at work on Monday if I don’t start something new instead.

Much tweaking has been done. But now I’m not sure whether I liked some parts of it more before. It’s looking more realistic, but also less like the character is supposed to.

I’m back!

I took a bit of a break after finals, but now I return with my new summer project. I should have been posting progress, but I didn’t think of that until just now.

So my project is a human female character. Shocking, I know. I haven’t finalized her clothing yet, but by the time I finish modeling the body I should have something ready. Here’s the ortho:

So far I’ve got most of her face modeled. I’ve been trying to get it really detailed and realistic looking, unlike my last human models.

So far so good. I haven’t made as much progress as I should have, considering how much free time I have this summer. I keep being lured away by the joys of GTA4. But my double shifts at work this week should give me adequate modeling time. I love my boring desk jobs.

Finals Ate my Life

With finals beginning and frantic job-hunting, there is little time for blogging. Lame, I know.

This will be for the intro cutscene, which still isn’t done, but hopefully will be soon. There have been a few setbacks with the whole game thing, so hopefull we’re goign to make the deadline in three weeks. The beta presentation went pretty badly.
